Celebrating Nancy Storace

Andrew returned to Bampton Classical Opera for a fascinating programme celebrating the life of Nancy Storace, the first Susanna in Mozart's Figaro. Sopranos Jacquelyn Stucker and Rhiannon Llewellyn sang arias by Mozart, Haydn, Storace, Salieri and Soler with the CHROMA ensemble. The programme also included Haydn's Symphony no. 83, overtures associated with Nancy, and Mozart's Ch'io mi scordi di te, for which Andrew directed from the piano.

Londinium: 'Britten in America'

The second concert of Londinium's 2012-13 season marked the centenary of Benjamin Britten, focusing on his years in America (1939-1942). Londinium performed his AMDG and Hymn to St Cecilia to great acclaim, alongside choral music by American composers of the same decade including Copland's In the Beginning, for which they were joined by mezzo-soprano Carris Jones.

BBC Singers live in concert

Having made several recordings with the BBC Singers, Andrew conducted them for the first time in concert, broadcast live on BBC Radio 3. The programme included Vaughan Williams' G Minor Mass, motets by Byrd, Tallis, Philips and Taverner, and music by RR Terry, who conducted the first liturgical performance of the Mass and helped revive the Tudor repertoire.

Romantics Transcribed: NLCC a cappella
