About me and this site
This is the personal website of Jamie Collin. I'll say more when I have a little more in the way of content. Actually given that this has said more or less the same thing for a couple of years now that seems unlikely. Never mind.
For true e-stalkers I can point you towards facebook where you can use your own initiative to find me...
I'm currently a post doctoral researcher in therapeutic ultrasound working on the application of cavitation detection to HIFU therapy for deep seated solid tumours. HIFU (short for High Intensity Focussed Ultrasound) is a non-invasive treatment that produces a very localised region of heating within the body that can be used, with repeated applications, to destroy cancerous tissue. The aim of my work is to use very small bubbles that can be created in such a treatment to both increase the rate of heating and to more accurately give feedback as to the location of the heating.
If you'd like to know more about this, I've a couple of other sites to point you at - the Biomedical Ultrasound and Biotherapy (BUBL) website is now up and running. All sorts of bits and bobs about what my group does there. I've also got a personal site on a university machine but that is pretty empty.
